Sleet, Rain, Hail, and Snow

It’s not the weather report, it’s a prelude to a myth.  It’s Neither Rain Nor Snow Day and we are celebrating the opening of the New York Post Office in 1914.  The myth is that while the phrase, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds” is etched on the perimeter of New York’s famous James A. Farley Post Office, it is not the motto of the United States Postal Service (USPS). I guess we should be thankful they do deliver through almost anything.

You may not spend much time writing letters to loved ones these days and that’s probably why the cost of stamps may go up twenty cents.  I remember when I could mail a letter for $.25.  These days the USPS is competing with online retailers, email, private carrier companies, and now drones!  Support the USPS.  Visit our local branch and see what they can do for you. I’ll be renewing my passport.  Celebrate today by writing a letter on paper and mailing it, sending cards through the mail, checking your actual mailbox, buying a book of stamps, saying hello to your letter carrier or anything else related to the USPS.  Have fun and…

HOLIDAY ON MY FRIENDS!!!
